Tzafona Cellars' cold climate in Ontario, Canada is perfect for creating a Riesling that is crisp and fruity with aromas of melon, light pears and apples. There's a subtle touch of sweetness on the nose that adds to the aroma. The wine has a translucent color of light, light yellow with maybe just a small touch of green. This light bodied, dry wine is very acidic in flavor profile similiar to the aromas. In ancient Hebrew, Tzafona means northward, and true to its name it captures the cold and pure essence of Canada's flagship appellation- the Niagara Peninsula. This Riesling is a nice, easy drinking wine that balances perfectly with its lively food friendly nature.
