Winemaker's Notes
The Tabor Tannat is a special single varietal from this well known producer. The Tabor Tannat vineyard site, planted in 2009, is the first Tannat ever planted in Israel. The vineyard has a basalt soil and is rich in nutrients. The vineyard is planted on a southern slope where it receives sunlight most of the day, together with good drainage to control the vine vigor. These conditions are particularly well-suited for a bold, rich, and fruity wine. The 2016 Tabor is full-bodied, with excellent balance of red fruits (strawberries, currants, plums) and oak, plus notes of thyme and mint. Firm acidity and tannins aid the aging process, but this wine is ready to open now with hearty food.
