Winemaker's Notes
Israel's ancient soil and lengthy growing season provide the perfect environment to nurture fine Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. These grapes were hand- picked, soft pressed, vinified and aged 8 months in French oak barrels. The result is a full-bodied wine with a delicate smoky aroma and hints of spices enhanced by plum and blackberry flavors. Enjoy with grilled meat, game and hearty casseroles. The Recanati winery is in the Hefer Valley near Hadera, on the coastal plain. It opened in 2000 and is led by the winemakers, Gil Shatsberg and Ido Lewinsohn. Besides the classic grapes, they have recently been adding historic and Mediterranean varieties in their vineyards around the country.
