Winemaker's Notes
Castel Grand Vin 2012 is produced by Domaine du Castel, an Estate West of Jerusalem with vineyards at an altitude of 2,400 feet. The wine is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and is aged 24 months in new French oak barrels. It is full-bodied, bold, complex, and is layered with earthy and oakey aromas with fruity undertones. The flavor is more fruity with currants, cherries, plums, and a hint of spice. The flavor builds and builds until a strong finish that has a hint of bitters and a long aftertaste of cinnamon, clove, and more oak.
