Winemaker's Notes
The Dalton Alma is a powerful blend consisting of 55% Shiraz, 40% Grenache Noir, and 5% Carignan all sourced from vineyards in Israel's Galilee and then aged 18 months in French oak barrels. The color is a nice deep garnet that fades at the rim. The aroma consists mostly of dried fruit smells, such as dried plums, prunes, raisins with a touch of vanilla. It is medium bodied with a touch of spice and very well balanced. The acid grows on the palate and the tannins are solid leaving a touch of bitterness on the finish. The wine is overall very smooth and well suited for a mature palate.
