Winemaker's Notes
Volcanic basalt soil, high altitude vineyards, and the unique terroir of the Golan combine to create the quality wines of Bazelet HaGolan. The wine is unfiltered and aged 20 months in French and American oak barrels. This soft and approachable Merlot is fruit-forward, with distinct strawberry jam and berry aromas. Well-integrated tannins and a medium body are smoothly offset by balancing acidity. These central coast Merlot grapes are carefully selected to produce a wine with aromas of red cherries, strawberry jam, and spice, with a rich mouth feel and finish. Tastes great with pizza and other toasted cheese dishes such as paninis and quesadillas or grilled chicken, especially with Mediterranean grilled veg such as peppers, zucchini and eggplant.
