Barkan Pinotage is a tribute to the variety originally developed in South Africa, which combines the delicate aromas of two outstanding grapes native to France: Pinot Noir and Cinsault. Barkan Cellars has been working with this variety for several years, and is proud to introduce this version of the wine into their Classic series. Barkan Pinotage has a deep garnet color with an intense ripe plum/strawberry aroma. The wine is well structured with rounded tannins balanced by a pleasant tartness. Barkan Pinotage pairs well with grilled meats or ripe cheese such as cheddar. This is a vegan wine.

The Barkan winery is a staple in Israeli winemaking as it has been making wine for over 25 years. Barkan now is one of the largest wineries in Israel producing over 1 million bottles per year across all their wines. The current winery was built in 2000 and with it was built a massive visitor center that rests a half hour from both Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. The winery itself is filled with the most up to date technology and advances in the wine industry as the winery is home to all the laboratories, visitor center, production site, marketing center, and logistics center. Barkan has many different lines of wine starting with their classic, then their Barrel Reserve, Winemaker's Choice, Altitude and Superieur. Over the many years the winery has been making wine they have won numerous awards for their wines and continue to produce wines that are drinker friendly and priced right.

Products are packed with coolant during their journey to ensure they arrive in great shape. Meats will arrive frozen or refrigerated. Most of our products are shipped frozen; occasionally, due to a very quick turnaround between when the meats arrive at our freezing and distribution facility and when they are delivered to you, meats may be shipped fresh. Meat that is cold to the touch can be refrigerated for immediate use, or frozen for later use.
