Winemaker's Notes
Adir Kerem Ben Zimra Red Port 2011 is from the Adir Kosher Winery in the Upper Galilee in Israel. The grapes are harvested late in the season from the Kerem Ben Zimra Vineyards next door. After a partial fermentation, grape alcohol is added. This preserves the sweetness and gives it a high alcohol content- 18.5%. The color antique red. The wine has a rich bouquet of ripe red fruits, such as black plum, caramel honey and licorice, clove with a balanced bouquet of cigar and pralines. The Port has a pleasant but not dominating sweetness, powerful tannins and a pleasant finish.
